How We Choose Products
Last updated 2026-06-09
Gate 1: Real Product
Before anything else, we confirm that a product is a genuine, commercially available appliance and not a duplicate listing, a delisted item or an AI-generated junk entry. We check that the product has a current listing, a valid model number and enough publicly available specification data to be meaningfully compared to other products in the category. Items that fail this check are excluded entirely.
Gate 2: Verified Buyer Demand
A product must show real buyer demand to appear in our rankings. We look for at least 100 customer reviews or strong verified purchase activity. Products with very low review counts or negligible purchase history indicate that buyers have not chosen them in meaningful numbers, regardless of how impressive their specifications appear on paper. Thin-demand products are excluded even if all other criteria are met.
Gate 3: Rating of 3.8 Stars or Higher
We require a minimum rating of 3.8 stars across a meaningful review base. Products below this threshold have accumulated enough negative owner feedback that we cannot recommend them in good conscience. The rating gate applies equally at every price point. A budget product rated below 3.8 is excluded just as a premium product would be. We do not adjust the threshold based on price or brand.
Gate 4: Real Brand
Every product in our rankings must come from a verifiable, real-world manufacturer or brand. We confirm that the brand has a legitimate commercial presence and is not a generic placeholder or a fictitious entity created to list products. Products from unverifiable brand sources are excluded. Products that pass all four gates are then ranked within their category by a combination of specifications, price and buyer satisfaction data.
